Location: The Old Engine House, Ely, CambrigeshireIt often happens that a couple comes to me and say “Oh, we don’t really like having pictures taken, we’re not really into it.” And naturally, they are a bit worried. And that’s how Dave and Kat were too. When we met on the day in this picturesque garden near Ely cathedral, Dave said, “This is just an exercise for us”. They especially said that they are not one of those lovie-dovie couples who are into public displays of affection. So we thought we would be going for the kind of cool, moody look. Well, it turned out that it was not cool and moody but fun and laughter that made the great pics that both they and I felt were the best. And guess what else? Come the wedding day, my lovely Kat and Dave turned into the most romantic couple, posing naturally, enjoying each other’s company and their Big Day. And that’s what the engagement photo shoot sometimes is about; it’s finding that photography does not need to be scary or awkward. On the contrary, it can be great fun and create lasting memories.
